Staying One Night.

Info

Today we did the Kings Canyon Rim walk. Tomorrow we will do the shorter canyon walk before heading for Alice Springs. The temperature was over 30Β°c when we got back to the Resort. I think it may have hit 35Β°c later but could have been the sun on the outside thermometer. No idea how many sites but they all look full tonight. The showers are cold. Will have a later shower and see if it improves. 🚿🚿🚿 Taleah had a cold shower. Aidyn is waiting with me and Julie will probably make a decision after us. πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€” There is warning about Dingoes and not to feed them and not to leave food out or unattended. We have only seen the one Dingo, the same one I expect and what looks like a young one. It's too fast to get photo of at the moment, but I am trying.🀫🀫🀫 The toilets and showers have heavy gates that open outward only and the rubbish bins have heavy chains through the lids. Dingoes I guess! 😁😁😁 No mobile phone service even though we have full bars. Try to ring out and it says not registered on network. Suspect it is not a Telstra network. You have to use pay phones with cash or Telstra Card. There is WiFi but you have to pay. I imagine the Resort controls the WiFi network as a source of income. Put the Jerry cans full of 40 litres of fuel from Yulara in the car. Same price as here. Need not have bothered to buy it in Yulara. Orher than ringing ahead I wonder how you would find out prices of fuel as you travel. Maybe I will figure it out as we go!

Kings Creek - Base Canyon Walk.

Info

As a comparison we went for a walk along the bottom of th he canyon. The kids complained, "another walk! how far?" It was only 2km one way. Took 45 minutes. Nice and cool and lots of trees.

Kathleen Springs.

Info

A short walk along a creek / gorge used in the past for stock & water supply. Lots of finches around the small amount of water in the creek. At the end where the waterhole is there was a lot of what looked like a sort of bamboo. There also looked like a lot of introduced plants. Shame about the look. πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ€” Time for a bite to eat and head of for tonight's stop on the way to Alice Springs. Left about 11:30am for Alice Springs.
