Sarina Sugar Tour.
Sarina Tourist Art & Craft Centre, Bruce Highway Railway Sq, Sarina QLD 4737, Australia
Left MacKay just after 9:00am after a more relaxing stay that we normally do. Mainly because my leg is healing more slowly than I would have hoped. 😴😴😴
Julie is driving to Rockhampton so I can be cool and rest my foot on the dash. 😎😎😎 But seriously I do need to rest it!
At the Sarina Sugar Shed for an 11:00am tour of the process of making sugar. The main factory appear to be opposite. The Sugar Shed is a mini version of the big thing opposite and is not affiliated with it at all.
So now we know the process for making sugar. Fairly simple process really compared to say mining for gold. Worth the tour except the number in the group we had could have been less. Difficult to hear sometimes. Especially as a family from France had Dad repeating everything in French for their kids. There seems to be a lot of French people on holidays here! 🙄🙄🙄
Now to the tasting.
Wow, looky here, have not had Fairy Floss for ages.
The alcohol taste test is worth it. You need to only have a little sip of each if driving. 20% plus alcohol content. 😝😝😝
So now for a bit of lunch and onwards to Rockhampton.

Apparantly there are dry caves that rely on rainfall and predominantly above ground level. The deepest section is only 5 meters below ground.
Yet another attraction that is better in the wet season.
Oh well it kept the kids occupied for the morning.
