The Entrance.

Location

Australian Age of Dinosaurs, LOT 1 Dinosaur Dr, Corfield QLD 4735, Australia

Info

We were one of the first here, but not for long. Soon the hoards arrived. It is so hard to get photos with some tourist photo bombing you. 😖😖😖 They have certainly spent some $$$ on the road in and the layout. Hope the keep it funded, it is a great facility. If your over 12 you can spend a week there learning and helping with the prepping of the fossils. Aidyn is nearly 12, but did not warm to the idea. 😉😉😉

Part 1 of the tour. The tour guide (James) was awesome. Full of facts and information. You got the impression he was enthusiastic about his job and the whole palentologist thing. The was almost an entire neck of a ornithopod there they were prepping. Also a genuine real dead (Fossil) femur of an ornithopod you could touch as well. There were also volunteers working in the prep area. You would need to be keen. One of the fossils being prepped has taken almost a week to get ready. 🦖🦖🦖

Part 3 of the tour. This was cool. We get a ride in an electric road train bus golf cart thing. Felt just like the ride the Jurassic Park movie but with a better ending. 🦖🦖🦖 They have bigger plans for the displays. What was there was very impressive. The tour guide thought he had a job for 6 months and has now been there 2 and a half year and thinks it is a great job. So, the land was donated and the Museum is far enough out of town for people to travel. Nice picturesque location. All the fossil from dig site are transported to the laboratory and the rest is museum. The tourism is currently funding the museum. Must have been close to 75 people doing our tour and the one before and after.

Location

Info

Left the Australian Age of the Dinosaurs Tour at 12:11pm and told to allow 1.5 hours to get there. Just made it. Bitumen half way and dirt the rest with bits of bitumen in a couple of spots. The corrugation was bad in a couple of spots and on the road in. Bugger!! the car is dusty again. 😂😂😂 Us and only two others were on the 2:00pm tour. It is a short tour. Only 45 minutes but interesting to say the least. If you have a good imagination you could picture the scene that created the foot prints. The video preview helps I am sure. It is the only one of it's kind in the world now we have been and seen. 🙃🙃🙃🙃
